The "Culture, Sports, and Spring Festival," held at our university on April 23rd, was held with great enthusiasm and participation, featuring a series of events lasting approximately a month.
This comprehensive event, which supports the university's scientific, cultural, and artistic mission, brought together numerous academic and social stakeholders.
The festival began with a program commemorating April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day and continued with an awareness run and folk dance performances for individuals with cerebral palsy. Gazi University's 1st Book Days event was held in front of the central library from May 5th to 13th, where our students met with distinguished authors and special books at a book signing.
Our university hosted the 4th Interuniversity Road Bicycle Race on May 10th and 11th. The race, with participation from 11 different universities, generated great excitement in Ankara. The Gazi Bicycle Community, which hosted the event, not only successfully organized the event but also achieved significant success in the races. The Gazi University Cycling Group achieved great success in the men's team category, securing first place in the team rankings.
This series of events included various sporting competitions, an open-air cinema, cultural performances, exhibitions, workshops, music concerts, archery demonstrations, DJ performances, partner dance performances, student group booths, traditional games, festivals (Sporfest, Mayfest, Rekfest, FideFest), concerts, and artistic performances that allowed students to showcase their individual talents.
One of the most popular moments of the events was the concert and stage performance by the popular artist Bora Duran. Students thoroughly enjoyed Duran's popular songs, and the concert area was filled with enthusiasm. His energetic performance and friendly demeanor attracted considerable attention from the students.
Organized by the Gazi University Presidency's Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the festival was coordinated by various university departments. The event was enriched by the intense interest and voluntary participation of students, as well as academic and administrative staff. The dynamic atmosphere of campus life was strengthened during the events, and the active participation of student groups, particularly those on the main campus, allowed the work of student groups operating across the university to reach a wider audience.
Students expressed their morale boost before final exams. Students from various campuses came together to find common ground. An inclusive and highly engaged atmosphere was created, fostering individual creativity, uniting around shared values, and enjoying a collective enthusiasm. Events held at TUSAŞ - Kazan Vocational School on May 22nd as part of the Culture, Sports, and Spring Festival were also a source of excitement. During the final days of the event, students enjoyed themselves and unwinded from the year's stress before the exams.
